Celebrations in honor of Saint Anthony the Abbot

The bonfire is set up in the main square, where the 17th-century wooden statue of Saint Anthony is carried in procession around the fire, which is blessed and kept burning throughout the night.

January 16:
Blessing of the fire in the churchyard of the Church of the Madonna of Itria, followed by solemn Vespers.

January 17:
Solemn Holy Mass followed by a procession with the statue of the Saint, along a route that winds through:
Via Grazia Deledda, Via Fosse Ardeatine, Via San Giacomo, Via Roma, Via Eleonora D'Arborea, Via XX Settembre, Via Sassari, and Via Vergine D’Itria.
