Noragugume
and the Santu Jacu Pilgrimage Route
Noragugume is one of the “Authentic Villages of Italy” – a place where tradition and hospitality blend into a truly genuine atmosphere.
It rises in the geographical center of Sardinia, on a basalt plateau overlooking the Ottana plain. Inhabited since prehistoric times, its territory is home to the majestic Sa Pedra 'e Taleri menhir and important Nuragic remains such as Tolinu, Mura 'e Sune, and Irididdo.
The heart of the village is Piazza IV Novembre, where three churches stand: the Blessed Virgin of Itria, the parish church of Saint James, and the small church of Santa Croce.
Noragugume is a tidy village, rich in murals, rural views, and spirituality, preserving the traces of its millennia-old past and the warmth of a community that proudly believes in the strength of its roots.
